You say the Tom Thumb bit is the worst, but you don’t say why it is so harsh. The curb bit provides leverage against the poll (via the headstall) and the chin (via the curb chain) and bars. This would be true for the Tom Thumb as well. So why is it worse?
Also, you clearly dislike the bit and the hackamore – so what do you recommend?
