Meg Sleeper thrives on energy. Her day job as a Veterinary Cardiologist is supplemented by her drive in endurance competitions. Sleeper, 42, and husband, Dave Augustine, breed and raise horses on Canterbury Grove Farm outside of Frenchtown, New Jersey.
Sleeper has two nominated horses for the WEG team, ten year old, Syrocco Reville (Rimmon x Edgewood Schelite)and eight year old Syrocco Harmony (Syrocco Troubador x Edgewood Schelite), both bred and raised on the farm.
Sleeper, a lifelong horsewoman, has been competing in endurance since 1986. Her training regimen includes dressage and a steady schedule of competition where she has amassed over 9,000 American Endurance Ride competitive miles and many more of International competition. Sleeper was on the Gold Medal Pan American Team in 2001, and has ridden in four other Pan American Championships. She was an alternate for the World Equestrian Games USA Endurance Team in 2002 in Jerez, Spain, placed 22nd in the WEG Endurance Championship in 2005 in Aachen, Germany, and was a member of the USA team in Malaysia in 2008. Both horses have strengths and have shown well in the Selection trial process. With many International miles to her personal credit, Sleeper makes a good choice for the 2010 World Equestrian Games Endurance Competition.
