As one among millions of women who once dreamed of horses and are now recapturing that dream, Melinda let her own struggles do the talking in her book, The Smart Woman’s Guide to Midlife Horses. Melinda’s own midlife horse tale began with the purchase of Trace, a handsome bay gelding that became the impetus for the book. Solving some problems (and creating others), Melinda added Rio, a little sorrel who thinks he’s a dog.
